Overview

The International Development Studies (IDS) program at the University of Winnipeg, jointly offered with Menno Simons College, is an interdisciplinary major designed to explore the causes and consequences of global development processes. It emphasizes community-level development, the work of non-governmental organizations, and popular movements, preparing students for engaged citizenship in an interdependent global community. The curriculum integrates problem-based analysis, ethical frameworks, and practical development issues, with opportunities for experience-based learning through a practicum program. Please note: As of June 30, 2023, this program is discontinued for new students. Current students are able to complete their program of studies.
